Nabu of Mondays Are Beautiful came to us because a few things were off in her photographer branding.
You can probably relate to these points as well. If you feel as if you’ve outgrown your logo, then keep reading. Nabu was in the perfect position to upgrade the branding and web design for her photography business, and I was happy to help facilitate her transformation. Let’s not waste any more time, let’s finally review Nabu’s rebrand.
In order to get the best results for Nabu’s rebrand, we dove headfirst into her brand strategy. Nabu and I hopped on a call and spoke about her goals for the rebrand.
“I really want my new brand to be vibrant and inspiring. I want the clients that land on my website to instantly feel as if I’m the photographer for them,” she mentioned.
Say no more. We took a deep dive into her ideal clients. I probed her about her past clients and the qualities she enjoyed. I also questioned her on the type of clients she’d like to attract. From there, I created a personified ideal client board for her to approve. This would become the foundation of her new photographer branding.
We completed an audience audit, reviewed her competitors, tweaked her messaging, and compiled it all into a document that would make up her brand strategy. Her ideal clients consisted of everyday Chicagoan women who wanted to document a special moment in their lives. The other half of her ideal clients included businesswomen in the Chicago area who needed new brand images for their website, course launch, or digital products.
This gave me everything I needed to craft a unique creative direction for her business.
With the brand strategy solidified, I started working on preliminary designs. I wondered, what colors would I like to focus on to draw in a client that wants a vibrant, energetic Chicago brand photographer? What fonts would carry that energy through the brand? After mocking up the first round of designs, I pinged Nabu and took her feedback. The wonderful part of the rebranding process is that it’s super collaborative. Finally, we landed on the new photographer branding of Mondays Are Beautiful.
The Rebrand Experience is such a unique approach to the traditional brand and web design because I also creative direct the brand photography. I scouted the locations in Chicago, found our photographer, and created the shot list to guide her on the overall mood I was going for. Your girl even styled Nabu and she did exceptionally well!! Brand Photography is extremely important to a rebrand because images can make or break the final design. My rebrand client got me on set, so I flew to Chicago to meet Nabu and contribute to the success of the shoot. I’m so glad I went because the images came out BEAUTIFULLY – Jasmine did her thing!
One thing people forget often is how much styling affects the overall outcome of the photoshoot. I’m no professional stylist, but I do get things done. ? Based on our branding, I created a style sheet for Nabu to follow when she went shopping. This is another one of those high touch points that set our rebrand experience apart from others. And based on the pictures, I’d say we did AMAZING.
While waiting for the branding photography images, we get to work on the copywriting. I suggest my clients hire copywriters for their rebrands. Especially if they are promoting a course launch. However, for others, I provide a form to aid in copywriting. By the time copywriting is out of the way, the images are ready to review.
With the complete branding imagery, I create the initial home page mockup. I design all of my client sites on Showit. It allows me to have the most customization control over my client sites. I also enjoy the power of WordPress for their blogs. Nabu was in LOVE! So from there, I continued to work on her interior pages.
Every photographer needs more than pretty visuals and a gorgeous site in order to make money. I take a look back at our brand strategy and perform keyword research that will help Nabu get found by her ideal client on Google. The real magic happens when a strategically built site is paired with beautiful visuals.
You can take a look at Nabu’s website to see the brand in full effect. If you’re looking through and wondering, “Dang, I wish my website looked like this,” then it may be your sign to revamp your visuals. Fill out the inquiry form and learn more about how we can get this started for you too!
